New Years Thoughts -2019

2019. A new year. Does this excite anyone else? I always think of it as a fresh blank slate. Ready for exciting things. I know, it’s just a mind thing, but I still love it. Our wedding was on New Year’s Day 8 years ago. 8 years! Still can hardly believe it…

So, this year we went to Ethan’s sisters farm out in the woods for new year’s eve and day. We went off grid and it was so nice just to have our little family together connecting and talking. The fire in the stove was so cozy. We put puzzles together, read and did nothing. I finished a book that I started several months ago. That was huge for me. I used to read all the time but we are in a different season now. Hopefully I will have that opportunity someday to read a lot again. The next day we went for a long hike through the woods to the top of the ridge. The children loved it! They enjoy being out in nature so much. To be able to run wild and explore was so much fun for them. Ethan and I even managed to get a snapshot of us together.

I love a good planner. I like to see things planned out so I don’t forget important things we need to remember. My mother-in-law gifted us girls a fabulous planner for Christmas this year. Just being able to sit in the woods for a bit and think about what we want for a new year was lovely.

This year Ethan and I had a bit of a date afternoon (involving taking a trampoline apart and coffee) and we decided on a word and verse together for this coming year. I treasure these special, rare moments that we have together. I can’t wait to see what God has in store for us this year!
